Sherrie Gong Taguchi is an author, career coach, and consultant with 18 years of experience in industry, education, and non-profits. Her expertise is in career management, recruiting, executive development, new service introductions, reorganizations, and non-profit leadership. Sherrie was Vice President of Global University Recruiting for Bank of America and Director of Corporate Human Resources for Dole Packaged Foods and Mervyn’s/Target Department Stores. For eight years Sherrie served as Assistant Dean and Director for the Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA Career Management Program where she advised thousands of students and employers from start up ventures to Fortune 100 companies. While at Stanford, Sherrie also headed the Management Communication Program. After leaving Stanford to move to London, England, Sherrie began her writing and consulting practice full-time. While in London, she guest lectured at the London Business School in the Career Strategy Program.

As Principal of Career Inspirations, Sherrie writes books and articles, and consults to a variety of individual, corporate, and non-profit clients. Her recent articles have been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle’s Worker Dozen career advice columns, the Society of Human Resource Management HR Magazine, the National Association of Colleges and Employers Journal, the Graduate Management Admissions Council publications, and on numerous award-winning Internet sites including: Wetfeet.com, AsianAvenue.com, BlackPlanet.com, CoolAvenues.com, among others.

Sherrie earned her MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and her undergraduate degree in marketing with an emphasis in education from Santa Clara University.

Community Leader

Sherrie actively volunteers her time by serving on Boards of Directors or advising non-profit organizations. Her focus has been in helping people to achieve their best, most fulfilling worklives; making the arts accessible to all, and sharing her passion for education/learning. Sherrie is currently Co-President of the City Arts Council in San Mateo. She serves on the San Mateo Library Foundation Board of Directors and The Tech Museum of Innovation's Leadership Advisory Council. While on the Executive Committee of the Career Action Center, Sherrie acted as chairperson of the Recruitment and Fund Development Committees. Sherrie and husband, Mark, Chief Marketing Officer for Marketocracy Inc., live in San Mateo, California with their Golden Retriever, Ginger.
